The Adventures of Mr. Mystic and the Dragons of Heaven - pulp/urban fantasy, complete, shopping for agents/publishers
When she discovers that her grandfather led a double life as a crime-fighting vigilante, it seems only natural for Missy Masters -- activist, runaway, street magician -- to carry on his legacy. But being a pulp adventure hero takes more than a good fedora and a knack for witty banter. Now she's adopted more than Mr. Mystic's legacy; she's adopted his identity.
From my ABNA Vine review:
This is an excellent excerpt, and I would definitely be interested in reading the full-length novel. Missy is a multi-layered character with a lot of potential as a protagonist. After reading the first few paragraphs, I was already hooked on the story. I would love to learn more about this world where superheroes walk the streets and are evaluated as part of normal conversation. The author's style is exciting and fast-paced. Overall, this excerpt is all but perfect, and the author should be completely proud of having produced such a work.
Chiaroscuro - secondary world fantasy, 70,000 words and going strong. "Dumas meets Dangerous Beauty"
Once, the port of Benechiaro was a city of light, a bastion of learning, and an opportunity for the daring to make their fortunes, but the Grande Courtesan of the sea has aged past her prime, and now politics and privilege rule the day. A young nobleman-in-exile stumbles into this viper's nest when he discovers a plot to pillage the city, but do the pirates act alone, or is the attack part of a larger conspiracy involving the city's own aristocracy?
